Purpose
Authentrus is a proposed alliance of
privacy thought leaders, privacy officers, trust engineers,
cryptographers, and senior management at banks, financial services
firms, Government and NGOs whose purpose is to eliminate fraudulent
impersonation and other breaches of personal privacy by implementing
and gaining support for the Personal Intellectual Property
Infrastructure, as described in the documentation of the Quiet
Enjoyment Infrastructure.
Background
Authentrus is a member of the Quiet
Enjoyment Alliance, which is a partnership managed by The Village
Group. The Village Group is a signatory to the ITU's World e-Trust
Memorandum
and is working with the International Telecommunication Union and the
International Union of Latin Notaries to establish enrollment and
identity standards that will enable trusted domains on the Internet.
Need
The Quiet Enjoyment Alliance was founded upon the principle that
Identity is the Foundation of SecurityTM. At the same time,
any system that includes a universal identity credential must include
strong privacy protection in order ensure that the credential is not
abused. PIPITM transforms the universal identity credential
into a bulwark of your privacy through means that are both technical
and legal.
